IDE mode does not allow for either of these functions.
Why asta2 with such labor and additional restarts?! Older operating systems, or those that simply lack the drivers, can’t use ACHI-mode interfaces and require older parallel-IDE style interfaces to access storage. Page 1 of 2 Jump to page: OR the drive is dead.

Neil Traft 2 ahcj AHCI allows for hot swapping of hard drives if the motherboard chipset also supports it, and it also enables NCQ for hard drives if they support it. All my current drives are listed under the “Disk Drives” section. Clearly, I must be missing something OR the drive is dead.

I don’t have a floppy drive, so should I just burn it on disc and boot from my optical drive with it OR would it be installed from windows? I’ve tried both, but the drive acts like it simply isn’t there ie. Rotate image Save Cancel.
It’s fairly gugabyte as these things go, Win Vista being the first Windows release to have it out of the box, but is definitely the way of the future. I check under Windows Disk Manager and it does not show the new drive in there which makes sense I guess.
